New Year, New Location!

Well, it's been awhile since I've had a chance to write on here. That's a good thing! I've been busy loving on so many pets, being a mom, and operating Paws and Paw Paws, I just haven't had time. Also, living and operating during a pandemic is enough for anyone.

Personally, in late 2019, my husband and I committed to a new project that kind of occupied my "free" time for a moment. The COVID pandemic hit, but we were already so committed, that we kept moving right along. Our family opened Tchoup's MidCity Smokehouse in July 2020. Yes, we opened a restaurant during a pandemic where indoor dining was extremely limited. Tchoup's, named after my first fur baby, Tchoupitoulas, is a full service restaurant that also offers outdoor, DOG friendly dining. It was so very important to use to include DOGS in our new venture since, well, that's one thing we love the most.

After Tchoup's MidCity opened, we came across a too-good-to-pass-up opportunity, or maybe we're just crazy...

Two doors down from the restaurant on S College Road, we leased a spaced and jumped back on the crazy train.

And that's where I'm writing from today! Paws MidCity, located at 111 S College Rd, is now open for grooming services, and we will be adding daycare services in the next week or so. We do have a dog named Paws, but he was adopted after Paws and Paw Paws opened. Don't worry, our son reminds us daily that we haven't opened a business with his name, yet!

Katie Durel Taylor (she got married!) has been promoted to Operations Manager at Paws and Paw Paws and operates along with Ariel Stelly, our weekend supervisor. I haven't gone too far, but Katie and Ariel have been on our team since the beginning. Both know our mission and the level and quality of care our clients expect, and exceed in their positions.

Closing out 2020 was a big deal! We certainly experienced a lot of challenges this past year. We also learned that we have a faithful following that we could not be more thankful and appreciative for. We work HARD at doing things the right way, every time. We were financially, emotionally, economically impacted in 2020, but that doesn't mean the needs of the world change. Dogs still need care, and in our opinion, only the best care.

In 2021, our goal is to continue to live up to our two slogans, #bestdaycareforyourbestfriend and #boardingatitsbest We're also extremely lucky to have a very talented grooming team, led by Brooke Thrasher, that we sometimes forget to include #ourgroomersaregreat but that's because they are better than great; they are the best of the best!

Thank you seems like such a small thing to say when really, it's so much more than that. Acadiana, our team, friends, family - you have truly embraced us, our mission and our purpose. You've liked, commented, shared, recommended, reviewed and spoke about us in a way we could never repay. I see it all. I manage our Google, Facebook, Instagram. I see each like, tag, share, story, photo, you name it. And I never, ever get tired of seeing it. Keep it up, and we'll keep providing the best care we can.

THANK YOU for making my dreams come true!
